Comments on my letter please

Reference to the above, your letter xxx/xxx/xxx dated 17^th December 2018 and to previous weekly meetings held between xxx and yyy, the method of pit construction for Q01-58 was changed from cast in-situ to sheet piles due to reasons stated below:

1. The possibility of hitting existing utilities is high if we are to use the cast in-situ method (refer drawing attached, attachment A)
2. From the soil investigation data gathered, the area is of hard ground which is almost impossible to drive sheet piles using conventional means (refer borehole record, attachment B)
3. This necessitates the usage of a prebore machine; which has a cost impact; which in our opinion, should be borne by you.

Apart from the above, sheet piles have to be cut in order to retrieve the cutter heads upon completion of our jacking works. Thus, we have to disagree on your statement as per your letter above where we would be held responsible for all cost and expenses if the sheet piles are damaged or stolen/missing.

Moving forward, we would like to request a meeting with your contract department to discuss and finalize on this matter.
