Commentary on a Short Essay?
Today, I wrote an essay for a HOBY Leadership Seminar application.
The prompt and response follow:
"In 100 words or less, describe the most challenging and rewarding aspect of being a leader in your school and community."
Throughout the years, I have been offered many chances to be a leader in my community. Oftentimes, being a leader has both extremely challenging and extremely rewarding aspects. These aspects provide depth to my role as a leader.
One of the most challenging aspects of leadership is understanding my strengths and weaknesses. I must understand where I fall short – and where I strive – to be able to know what I can do and what I need to have others do. But the truly most rewarding aspect of leadership is knowing that I inspired others and planted the seeds of leadership.
Does anybody have any commentary?
