Commas with adverb "ALSO"

Should I put a comma before an adverb "also" if it is at the end of the sentence?

Help, please! Example: ....not only human beings but vegetation also.

not only human beings but vegetation also.

Better style is not only human beings but also vegetation.

not only . . . but also . . . is a very common structure.
