Hi,
I've been recently confused as to whether it is appropriate to use commas in this sentence form:
"Jill and Cory each had their own theories about what had happened, and neither of them were pleasant."
Is this comma correct?

The rule I'm looking at says to separate main clauses linked by a coordinating conjunction with a comma. So this would make sense
