Commas before and after since & because

Do I have to use commas before ands in sentences like below?

It’s not fair since he works(,) and she doesn’t.

He was successful because he worked so hard(,) and he never gave up.

Is there a meaning difference?

Syncx It’s not fair since he works(,) and she doesn’t. No; the clauses are short and parallel within the dependent clause. However, you need one after 'fair'.
