May I submit these examples for your consideration: (1) I love newspapers. However, many people don't. (2) I love newspapers; however, many people don't. (3) Grandfather never attended school. He was, however, very wise. (4) However busy he may be, Dr. Jones always has time for his patients' questions. (5) However (or "how ever") did you do that? = How did you ever do that? Sincerely, J

I would write #5 as two words.
