Comma, Which, or Semi Colon.

I am seeking employment and I am wondering which sentence is grammitically correct and/or is stylistically better>

1) My strong academic record is evidenced by the fact that I have earned a Thurgood Marshall Scholar designation, which is a distinction that is reserved for the top 16-35% of my class.

2) My strong academic record is evidenced by the fact that I have earned a Thurgood Marshall Scholar designation, a distinction that is reserved for the top 16-35% of my class.

3) My strong academic record is evidenced by the fact that I have earned a Thurgood Marshall Scholar designation; a distinction that is reserved for the top 16-35% of my class.

Let me ask you, are you sure that option 2 is grammitically correct? Apart from the style comment can one say:


My strong academic record is evidenced by the fact that I have earned a Thurgood Marshall Scholar designation, a distinction that is reserved for the top 16-35% of my class.

or is that a run-on. Do I need some sort of connecting wo
