Comma usage question

Some men are destined to be valiant, decimating soldiers treading through the muck, mire, forests, deserts, trenches, and hills of strange lands equipped with instruments capable of extinguishing the very life from humanoid figures.

In this sentence, should there be a comma before equipped or treading, or is it correct the way it is?

Top answer

Certainly not before 'treading', but probably before 'equipped'; however, the main problem is that the sentence is sloppily formed and badly needs recasting.
