Comma splice
i am having difficulty with comma splice errors in my writing.
my teacher marked these as comma splice errors:
As this passage takes place in the early portion of the book, is still beginning to tell the tale of how he was brought into slavery.
Although was born into this situation and was not technically ever initiated, in this passage he recalls his first memory as a slave.
In our tutorial, we discovered that the majority of first memories are of a traumatic event – the statement holds true in this passage.
I thought it was ok to use commas like this - when you begin with a word like as or although or the third sentence.
can someone clarify this for me?
