Comma Rule with 'Then'.

If I were writing the following sentence, would I need a comma before then?

'It'll be okay,' I told her then kissed her on the cheek.

Or would it be better to write 'and then'.

Thanks.

Thanks. Could I possibly get your advice on a couple of other sentences with the same issue.'I'll just get my things together then I'll come straightaway.''She packed up her things, then left.'I think with both examples above that it would soun unnatural to put 'and then.'What do you think?

I think these are better:

I’ll just get my things together and (then) leave straightaway.
She packed up her things and (then) left.

I wouldn’t use then in either of those sentences, but it’s not unnatural.
