Comma Question - (use of therfore in the middle of sentence)

I commonly use therefore in the middle of sentence for my line of work. However, I'm not sure if I'm using the proper grammatical treatment. For example:

I believe that this treatment is reasonable and, therefore, will pass on further investigation into the matter.

I'm I correctly using commas in this sentence? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

Oof! It was much too long ago for me to remember the details of that article. They did mention several other words (I think they called them 'adverbial conjunctions') that "should" be punctuated the same way, for example, however and nevertheless. I suspect their recommendations are a bit old-fashioned, but I don't know for sure.
