Comma question

Should a comma be used in front of a conjunction if it's connecting a phrase that isn't a full clause?

i.e. "She did it and did it well."

This is more a matter of style; a comma could be used depending on the speaker's intent.

In this instance I agree with MountainHiker. Since the "and did it well" is meant to reinforce the assertion that "she did it", the sentence is more effective without the comma; that is, the speaker wishes to emphasize that she "did it well."
