I feel it's surprising and indeed, even a small sensation, that the Gazette's doing a weekly feature in which the environment figures.

Where do I put the comma there?

Could it be "I feel it's surprising and, indeed, even a …"

Or: "I feel it's surprising, and indeed even a small …"

Or something else?
