Comma or semicolon

Hello, should I use a comma or semicolon here? Microsoft Word it advises me to use a semicolon and I don't think I should.

- I am extremely polite, always putting others needs before mine.

For a semicolon to be correct, the second part of the sentence would need to have a finite verb.

"... others' needs" needs an apostrophe.
