Comma or colon?

In this instance, would a comma or a colon be correct? I'm really not sure - or is neither necessary? I am trying to correctly punctuate these four lines.

For no fancy could quell this sorrow
Nor uplift the veil cast o’er my soul,
As steadfast as the beauty of verse
And as cold as your embittered heart.

Thanks in advance,
Emma

Thank you! Emotion: smile

Is the comma aftersoul acceptable because it's a breath pause, or because of the clauses that it separates?

I'd call it a breath pause.
