Comma before it is

Righto! I'm having a bit of an argument with my friend about the necessity of the comma in the following sentence (we'd like to believe we're not usually like this!):

Okay... Check it out, it is? You're sure?

There it is, in all its simplicity. The dialogue revolves around whether or not they should go into a cave. Is the comma before "it is" correct, wrong or optional?

Heya and thanks for the answer! My first post should've clarified a bit more, sorry.

Person A states that they should check the cave out. Person B is more hesitant and the quote is a reply. Something similar to:

Person A: Well, let's check it out.
Person B: Um, okay... Check it out, it is? You're sure?
