Comma before conjunction?

Hi, I was just wondering if someone could tell me if my use of a comma before 'and' in this instance is gramatically correct? I think it is, but I'm really not sure.

Though her existence is one of misery,
Her words have described a better world:
A place where only evil is abhorred,
And art revered above all that is hollow.

Thanks in advance! Emotion: smile

sailsofoblivion A place where only evil is abhorred, And art revered above all that is hollow. I wouldn't use a comma there, as that would make the second sentence sound like a distinct idea being added, rather than continuation/part of the first one which is describing the world.

  • sailsofoblivion A place where only evil is abhorred, And art revered above all that is hollow.
  • I wouldn't use a comma there, as that would make the second sentence sound like a distinct idea being added, rather than continuation/part of the first one which is describing the world.
