Comma before but rather as?

Do I need a comma before "but rather as," as in the sentence:

Given the scope of this research, these findings cannot be viewed as a short-term disparaties, but rather as evidence of an eco-system in danger.

OR

Given the scope of this research, these findings cannot be viewed as a short-term disparaties but rather as evidence of an eco-system in danger.
