Comma before 'also'

Should there be a comma before 'also'?He wrote Love Story, also.Thanks.

Not required. Old paradigm persisted on putting comma there, whereas the new paradigm does not. However, wait for an answer from a verified user, just to confirm.

I'd write neither.
Natural, and better, English is He also wrote Love Story.

I am not trying to be cynical. However, you have provided the original poster with an alternative to his original form, which is great! But you haven't answered his question. He didn't ask about syntax; he asked about punctuation. You could have said yes, comma required or no, comma is not required, and then offer your alternative.

I have experienced this myself on other forums too (no relation to here or you), and it can be really frustrating. I am sure that everyone means well, but let's be accurate in relation with questions.

I chose not to answer the question directly, because either way I feel I would be encouraging the use of poor English. In my experience on this Forum, most learners seem happy with my approach. I'm sorry that you find it frustrating.

By way of background, I hope you realize that all of us who answer questions are unpaid

volunteers. I am not a mindless, question-answering robot! I answer questions in the way that I would answer in my classroom.

Goronsky knows that he can ask a follow-up question if he is not satisfied with my answer, and I or someone else will be happy to go on trying to help him.
