Hello,

Ok - Is this corect? And if not, why is it not?

"I went to the store yesterday, and, admittedly, I was frightened."

Thanks for the help. I do appreciate it!

Why a comma before the 'and'? It's not necessary. 'Admittedly', on the other hand, is a sentence adverb and therefore requires commas.

"I went to the store and, admittedly, I was frightened." : Don't you need a comma after 'store' since 'I was frightened is an independend clause -could be a sentence by itself?

Well, 'I went to the store and was frightened' is a simple sentence.

It's hard to say without any context, but I can imagine someone writing "I went to the store, and I was frightened". So, if we add "admittedly", we would have "I went to the store, and, admittedly, I was frightened". It depends on the context.
