Comma after of course

Do we need a comma after OF COURSE?

I know for words like however, accordingly, etc. we need comma. But is it mandatory for OF COURSE?

Generally, a comma when the phrase is a comment on the whole statement, I suppose. I have no definitive examples that could not be argued, so I shan't even try.
