Comma?

Can someone please help me with the following?

Should there be a comma after 'Normally'?
Is it 'the impact' or is 'its impact' better?

"Normally measurement error cannot change the sign of the estimated coefficient, but it could diminish the impact."

Top answer

I find the sentence acceptable with or without a comma after "Normally". I feel that "it can diminish" fits better with the earlier "cannot". Assuming you mean diminish the impact of the estimated coefficient, then I would go with "its impact".

  • I wonder if "impact" is the best word though.
