Comma

For the Japanese placement test the professor has asked me to fill out a questionnaire, is that necessary for the Spanish placement test as well?

Should there be a comma or period? Thanks!

It's two completely separate ideas. It should be fairly easy for you to see that because the first is a statement and the second is a question.
