Comma

Can anyone answer the following question about correct comma use?

Look at the following sentence:

The professor states that the company realized that the good performers in each team were dissatisfied, because recognition went to the group and not to the individual, in the group, who made an outstanding performance. This contradicts the statement in the text, which says, that team members are highly recognized for ideas and their contribution to the project.

My question is how shall I place the commas?

1) before because. As it is an introductory line

2) around, in the group, and ,which says, as they are parenthetical elements

3) please correct any other errors, and/or provide suggestions of how to improve the paragraph.

Thanks,

/Brian

Hi Brian, As a general rule, it's better to avoid long sentences altogether. You could start a new sentence when you get to "because", and this would make the paragraph easier to understand. For example: "The good performers in each team were dissatisfied.
