Comma

A spokesperson for the star confirmed plans for the tome, which as yet has no title or release date.

is this comma really needed here?

if so, why?

if removed then is it grammatically wrong?

why use 'as' here?

Top answer

Yes, the comma is required; removing it is wrong. The information following does not serve to define the book, which has already been identified as the star's.
