Coming/will come

The Computer technician has an appointment to come to our place later this evening and it's 10 o'clock in the morning right now:

Which sentence should be used when I say this to my friend:

"The computer technician is coming later today." Or

"The computer technician will come later today." Or are they both ok and have the same meaning?
