come/go

Andy: I was just wondering if you are home so I could [come/go] over to keep you company.

Alex: Yeah. That would be great. I'm just watching the Discovery channel.

Are both choices correct?

PS: please correct any mistakes

Thanks in advance!

The verb "come" has the sense of moving towards the speaker or the person spoken to, so "come" is the correct choice here. Using "go" would be understood since it also means to move, but would be thought awkward or unclear by native speakers.
