Come up/Edge

What is "come up" here?

When "edge" is mentioned- like in this sentence "a serrated edge" do they talk about blade as well? because only serrated edge doesn't make sense to me. Thanks.

"Most of time the backside of a serrated edge is flat, so what we do, is come up the backside with the honing belt to flatten the back of the serrated edge"
