Come to me as sth, is this correct?

Hello everyone just when I want to convey such a meaning as: I don't treat word A and B as synonyms and a sentence structure came to my mind and I want to express it in this way, which I though suits better to native speakers' ears :

A and B usually don't come to me as synonyms.

Is it correct, or native enough? Can you understand the meaning I want to express with any doubts/hesitation?

In my memory, I remember vaguely I came across this structure (or a similar one, I can't be sure) several times.
