come read with me...

This couple have a herbal drug store. What does it mean when the wife says "now come read with me..."? Does it mean "now come and check the names or combination of some of these drugs with me ..."? Because, after that she says "you will need them for Saturday".

ohh, so does it mean "go read a book for yourself" or "come to read a book together"? Maybe "I am reading a book, you can come and read a book for yourself as well"?
