Vocabulary

• come in here

Hi!

I read the following script in a TOEIC book:

"Can I just come in here?

(A) Let him finish first.

(B) Just a moment. I’ll try to connect you.

(C) No, I can’t hear you.

(Answer: A)" ((p. 449, by Renald Rilcy, Achieve TOEIC))

My first question is:

Do you agree with the above that A is correct?

My second question is:

(If you agree with the above,) what do you think are the meanings of the sentences, “Can I just come in here?” and “Let him finish first.”? (I think “Can I just come in here?” means “Can I just take part in this discussion?” and “Let him finish first.” means “Let him finish what he was saying first. (= Please don’t cut in right now. = Please don’t interrupt him.)” Am I right?)

Thanks in advance.
