come from or came from ?

Pele was born and bred in Brazil as far as I know and began to kick a soccer ball in the streets of Brazil, so he came form/comes from a poverty-stricken family.
I am not sure whether came from or come form is corret?!

I am not sure whether came from or come form is corret?! 'came' fits better with the past tenses you used earlier in the sentence. Provided he's not dead yet, however, 'comes' will do as well.

Actually I knew that. I was only saying in my clumsy way that if the person is dead you can't say "He comes from [place]".
