Come back to my destination, entangled in the crowd

Today I got entangled in the crowd while I tried to get off the train at my destination, soI had to get down at the next station and come back to my destination.

It was so crowd in the train that while getting off, even after I tried to push my way to the doorway, I failed to get off before the train take off(moved from) the station, and I had to get off at the next station and come back to my destination.

Please correct my sentences and suggest me better versions

Thank you Mister Micawber.

But "take the train back" sounds to me as if "I'm taking the same train again from next station to return to my destination".
But I want to say that I got off from the existing train at next station and took the other train that moves in the opposite direction.
