"come across" or "look like"

What is your opinion? I gave second example to clarify my meaning. What is special about "come across"?

He never comes across as depressed or worried about the future, quite the reverse in fact.
He never looks like depressed or worried about the future, quite the reverse in fact.

There's nothing special about 'comes across as'. These mean the same:

Thanks for your time and your answer.But, not even emotionally? I agree with you that the meaning has no difference, but when you use "come across" instead of the others? Even slightest difference.
