Come across and Bump into

Hi everyone, i am wondering about answer for this question
I..............Catherine when we were shopping yesterday.
A. came across
B. bumped into
C. fell
D. fell into
The key is B but I looked up in dictionary and found out A is also the same meaning as B. (both "come across" and "bump into" mean "meet somebody by chance), so why the answer is B?
