Combining present and past tense

Hi People,

Can we combine present and past in some cases?

For instance:

He crossed the line between that which is good and that which is evil.

Okay, we can say good and evil instead of 'that which is good/evil', but my question is: is it okay to start with past tense and end with present tense like this?

Thanks.
