combat vs fight

Could you please explain the difference between these two words?
combat and fight
For instance, I know that combat is used mostly in political topics, but I don't know if there is any difference between them.

That is a really good (I mean, hard) question to answer. I dont know if I am right or not, but after my opinion:

1. In a combat you don't have a good definable enemy (someone/something) you need literally defeat to reach your goals. The emphasis is on the goal, you want to reach, and you must to do everything to reach. (Ok, there are combat sports, in that you want to defeat your p
