Colored (in) red

Hello everybody!

Would you say that "something is colored red or colered in red.."? Which seems more natural?

The bird is red. The color of the bird is red. I would not say "The bird is colored red" because it would sound like someone made it that color.

The bird is red.

The color of the bird is red.

I would not say "The bird is colored red" because it would sound like someone made it that color.
