Colon or semi-colon?

In this instance, would a semi-colon be required after knives rather than a comma?

Thanks in advance!

Edgar Allen Poe would have liked her house: it contained an attic shrouded by dust; a kitchen full of dangerous looking knives, and even a grandfather clock complete with a pendulum.

I wouldn't put a semi-colon there. By the way, please don't double-post. It is a waste of a member's time to answer a question that has already been answered in another thread.

There should not be a semicolon after "knives", and the semicolon after "dust" is wrong. And most people would put a period after "house".
