Colon

Hi. In the sentence below, should I place a colon after the word purpose then begin the word to with a lowercase t?

We knew our purpose: to partner in building a website featuring virtual remote employment for jobseekers, recruiters, and corporations.

Hi, You need to use semi colon ( ; ). And you can use either capital or lower case, both are acceptable after semi colon in your case. Hamid

Hi,
You need to use semi colon ( ; ). And you can use either capital or lower case, both are acceptable after semi colon in your case.

I would use a colon. I would never use a capital letter after a semi-colon or colon unless there were some reason (apart from the punctuation) for one.
