Collocation question

I'd like to ask whether the sentence: Indolence must be earned. make any sense? As the sentence: Trust must be earned.

Maybe it would be better to write: For indolence one should work? or One should work for indolence?

Thanks for help.

Are you sure you are using the correct word? Indolence is idleness, laziness or lethargy. It isn't something someone works for or earns.

What I want to write is that one has to work hard in order to reach this convenient state of laziness (nothing comes without hard work). I want to paraphrase this using the word "indolence".
Just as with "Trust must be earned" I want to write "Indolence must be earned" meaning what i have just written.

Thank you.
