Vocabulary

collocation?

Hi,

Let's consider the phrase

It is a trial version with a limited feature set

Could you please comment on the pair

a limited feature set VS a limited set of features ?

Note that googling does help very much here: both versions seem to be almost equally common.

I wonder if feature set is an established word combination (collocation?). Perhaps it is but only in computer/internet speak?

Any input would be appreciated

) Perhaps it is but only in computer/internet speak? Yes, I would say so, making it the preferred phrase if your sentence is to be read by those in the field. Of course, most of us have a sprinkling of computer-speak now, especially that directed to customers.
