College Application Essay (?????)

Prompt: In 400-500 words explain what you think the 28th amendment to the constitution should be.
I just threw this essay together and I'm worried my arguments or points are unexplained/have holes. If anyone could read over it and make some suggestions or comments I'd be very thankful.

One of the toughest realizations a young child can endure is being told they cannot, in fact, grow up to be anything they want to be. Especially in the case of young women, this is often a prevalent idea juveniles are required to accept. Most commonly children are held back by social platform, lack of resources, or discouragement. However, in the case of ten-year-old Alena Mulhern, the one thing holding her back from chasing her dreams is where she was born. Alena Mulhern is an adopted child from China whose goal is to one day become the president of the United States. She is unable to do so because she was not born on U.S. soil. For this reason, and for the many other children who wish to become president but cannot, the 28th amendment to the constitution should be that any upstanding individual who meets the requirement of being 35 years of age and has lived in the U.S. for at least fourteen years should be eligible to run for president.
Originally the constitution states “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.” (article II, section 1, clause 5). By adding the 28th amendment many people just like Alena Mulhern will be given a chance to become the leader of their nation.
If taken into consideration one will realize that the history of the United States is predominantly written by white males. At the time the constitution was written it is no secret that slavery was an active fashion and that people of color were looked down upon. It makes sense that the government of that era would wish to keep its leader one that of white decent. From the very beginning the United States was known to be the arbitrator of its hemisphere. A nation who discriminates against other nationalities in the core of its government cannot be that arbitrator.
A child cannot help where he or she is born, they can only decide the fate they will have afterwards. It is doing no good to keep out people born in other countries from ruling the one they would now call home. It is currently the year 2016, the United States as a nation needs to come to terms with the fact that there is indeed potential for leadership to run the country in individuals who were not born inside the country. If only one would review Donald Trump, a current favorite for the republican primaries, they would understand that somewhere in another country there is bound to be someone better suited for the job.
