Cola on the rocks

If I asked "cola on the rocks" would it be funny, considered humorous, regular or pathetic?
Or is it better to just ask 'cola with ice, please'

Pathetic, I think. Only whisky - and perhaps some other spirits - are commonly asked for "on the rocks".
