Coke

A bottle of coke.

I have read somewhere that coke should be capitalized when referring to the drink, is that correct?

Top answer

Yes. For one thing, it is good policy to respect the trademark that way and use, for example, "Band-aid" instead of "band-aid" (although their website makes it "BAND-AID", puzzlingly). For another, "coke" can mean a kind of coal or cocaine, so it makes sense to differentiate.
