let's say you want to have one cup of coffee from machine but there isnot coffee left.
is there something wrong in saying "coffee finished"?

Someone took the last cup of coffee. The machine is empty.

If you say, "the coffee is finished," people will probably think that you mean the coffee has finished brewing and is ready to drink (although "the coffee is ready" would be the more idiomatic way to say that).
