Hi,

With such expressions, sometiemes a hyphen is used, sometimes not.

You are on shaky ground with this, going out of the Standard Dictionary.
Normally, the prefix is associated with an action, i.e., "coexist," even,
"coexpress." Expression may be thought of as an action, but it is
much more commonly used to refer to the act of.

I will go out on a limb:

Coexpression for uses such a mutual action such as a d

To me, both seem acceptable, though I would personally probably hyphenate it. Google Book Search results seem fairly evenly split. Sometimes it's said that, in cases like this, British English has a greater tendency to hyphenate than American English (I'm a BrE speaker).

Coexpression for uses such a mutual action such as a duet or a painting done by two.

Co-expression when we are talking about two men building a custom home.

I'm not sure what meaning the OP had in mind, but I think by far the largest use of this term is in biological science. (Don't ask me to exactly define it!)

Well in biological science it's basically simultaneous expression...
