Good afternoon. I've searched for occurances of an expression like 'the coasts of the US states that face the Gulf of Mexico' in the Internet. I couldn't find many. I'd like a collocation that could also inspire me for other similar phrases such as 'the coasts of the Southern states that face the Atlantic Ocean'. Any suggestion? Thank you

If I had to explain what the 'Gulf states' are or what the 'southern Atlantic states' are, do you think I could use the verb FACE as in the phrases 'the US states that face the Gulf of Mexico' or the 'southern states that face the Atlantic Ocean'? Thank you.
