The word 'coarse' means 'rough' so does the phrase 'coarse wrinkles' mean 'rough wrinkles'?

I've never seen in writing or heard spoken the term "course wrinkles." One might say, "The texture of his skin was course and he had many wrinkles." That would mean the person's skin had a rough texture and, obviously, that he had a lot of wrinkles, both of which would be consistent with sun damage to the skin (and, probably, some unfortunate genes).
