I know this is not really about "grammar" per se, but about accent/speech style, but hope you folks don't mind.
CNN's Richard Quest.. I find almost anything he says excruciatingly funny. (I.e., the way he talks.) Is he doing it intentionally, or unintentionally? In Britain is he just normal? My main exposure to British accent is from Monty Python sketches, and they are, of course, trying to be funny, so I can't be sure about normality there.
